Palm oil production is the single biggest threat to South-east Asian rainforests.

Don't Palm us Off aims to expose the link between consumers and orang-utan survival in order to drive the production of sustainable palm oil through fair and mandatory labelling.

THE LATEST ON MANDATORY LABELLING
In 2011 the House of Economics Committee rejected the Truth in Labelling -Palm Oil Bill.

This year we remain hopeful that, through public pressure, palm oil labelling legislation will pass through government.

You can help make transparent labelling a reality by writing to your Federal MP, let them know that you want the choice.

Stay tuned for more information.

Other great ways you can help...

Write to your local Member of Parliament - Tell them what your stance is on palm oil labelling. Ask them what they are doing to help get labelling mandatory.

Write to the manufacturers of your favourite foods - Ask them if they use palm oil and, if so, whether they source certified sustainable palm oil (being a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil is different to sourcing certified sustainable palm oil)

Did you know?

Palm oil typically costs the lives of up to 50 orang-utans each week.

Palm oil is found in over 40% of the food products on our shelves.

Once palm oil is labelled, consumers can actually drive a market for proper certified sustainable palm oil because they can demand it of manufacturers.
